What "Just Marketing" Actually Means
Just Marketing is our approach to honest, sustainable, people-first marketing. Here's what it means in practice, and why we built Ljus around it.
Just Marketing
Marketing has a trust problem. Too much of it is loud, extractive, and built around numbers that look impressive but change nothing. We wanted to work differently, so we built our studio, Ljus, around a single idea we call Just Marketing.
It's a play on words. "Just" as in fair, marketing done with honesty and integrity. And "just" as in only, stripping away the noise and doing the work that actually matters. Both meanings are the point.
It starts with honesty
The most useful thing a marketing partner can do is tell you the truth, even when it isn't what you came in to hear. Sometimes that means saying "you don't need a rebrand, you need a clearer message." Sometimes it means "let's not spend on ads until we can measure what they do." Honesty above all is the first filter every recommendation passes through.
It's built around people
A follower count is not a business. A viral post that reaches the wrong people is a cost, not a win. Just Marketing measures what matters; real connection, the right audience, engagement that leads somewhere, and lets the vanity numbers go. We'd rather grow a community of 300 people who care than an audience of 30,000 who don't.
It keeps the work human
We use AI as a tool; for research, structure, speed, never as a replacement for human craft. Your content is human-led and human-owned. Our design is human-made. Where AI helps behind the scenes, we're transparent about it. Because marketing built on trust can't be built on autopilot.
It only works with the right partners
Just Marketing rests on three non-negotiables: transparency and integrity, sustainability and responsibility, and equality and inclusivity. If a project can't honour those, it isn't for us. That sounds like a limitation. In practice, it's the reason our clients trust us behind the scenes.
Just Marketing is the standard we hold every project to and, honestly, the reason Ljus exists.
